Sea turtles live in the water. Their habitat includes almost every ocean on Earth. Only females return to land to make a nest and lay eggs. Most female sea turtles return to the same beach to nest using their natural instinct. Sea turtles dig an egg chamber and lay eggs. Females usually lay about 100 eggs in each clutch. Sea turtles camouflage their nest before returning to the water. The life cycle of a sea turtle goes from adult, to egg, to hatchling, to juvenile, to adolescent, to adult. A life cycle is the way a living thing grows and changes. You are going to create a life cycle model of a female sea turtle. Hands-on Activity 1. Using the life cycle models, a tray of sand, water, and sargassum, take a series of pictures and/or videos to make a video describing the life cycle of a female sea turtle (adult, eggs, hatchling, juvenile, adolescent, and adult). 2. Create a video of the life cycle of a sea turtle. Be sure to include an introduction, the required content, the required vocabulary words, and the purpose of the activity. 3. Listen to your recording while checking off the required vocab and content. Re-record or write sentences in the caption if needed. 4. Upload your video to Activity 3. 5.
