Subjects: Math

Student Instructions

Your task is to create 5 slides. Each slide needs to show ONE SHAPE with an area of 25 SQUARE CM. A sample one has been made to demonstrate what to do. Click add then select drawing drawing Click the three dots 3dots and choose background background then scroll down until you see the square grid. Use 3dots and choose shapes shapes to select the straight line. You can change the colour, length and position of it. Once you have inserted one line, just click 3dots to duplicate it each time you want a new line. When you are happy with your shape (and you've checked it has an area of 25 square cm),click label to show lengths, and label with the AREA and the PERIMETER. This task will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. Tips for kids who like thinking creatively: 1. Consider including diagonal lines that cut squares in perfectly in half. (Two halves add up to 1 square cm!) 2. Make small complicated shapes instead of standard looking big ones. 3. Try cutting some squares into rectangles. (Two halves add up to 1 square cm!)
