Jackson Heights Music Room Time Capsule Item 1: Music Stand. The tall black thing is a music stand. It is where you can put your written music while you are sitting or standing so you can see it while you are performing. It can go higher if you are standing or push it down low if you are sitting. Item 2: Music Teacher Books. The colorful books are books used by the music teacher to teach her students about music. They have a lot of fun songs and games in them. They teach you how to read and write music. These are also used to teach students about music from different cultures around the world. Item 3: Classroom Percussion Instruments. You will find a hand drum, tambourine, maracas, jingle bells, rhythm sticks, triangle, woodblock, claves and 8 note bell set. These are instruments that students use to learn about steady beat and rhythm in the music room. They make a lot of fun sounds and are easy to use. Item 4: ;

Music Journal Entry #13

A time capsule is a container that is filled with present day things,and is then hidden away (or buried) to be opened in the future. You are going to create a time capsule to be hidden in the music room for future generations to find. What musical items would you put in the capsule to tell the future kids about music today? Make a list of the items to include in your capsule and write a short note to the future kids to tell them what this item is and why it is important to music. When finished, please place your response in the Music Journal Folder.
