(A10) Density of Solids

Grades: 3rd Grade, 5th Grade, 4th Grade
Subjects: Science

Student Instructions

Density is the amount of matter in a given space. Density describes how tightly the particles of matter are packed together. The cubes at this table have the same volume. You calculate the volume of a regular shaped volume by multiplying length, by width, by height. The unit for the volume of a solid is cubic centimeters (cm3). 1. Click add to open the template. 2. Follow the directions in your notebook to complete slides 1-4. 3. Click the draft button if you are not finished. 4. Click the green check to save. Required Content o Photo of 3 blocks – volume labeled o photo of 3 blocks – mass labeled o photo of 3 blocks – particles drawn and greatest/least density labeled o photo of density model – explain the connection next to sequenced block o purpose of activity/what you learned Required Vocabulary o Density o Inference/Infer o Model o Particles o Volume o Mass o Observe o Measure o Evidence
