I get the student's to picture the 100 chart in the mind to help them with filling in the number snakes. This can be used as an assessment for forwards and backwards number sequencing and place value. I always get my students to add a reflection where they describe how they solved problems. This is sometimes more important than the answer as it shows me their level of thinking and number knowledge.
