In 4th and 5th grade we do a lot of work with perimeter, area, and volume. Studying all of these different measurements, we can often get confused about the differences between them and what each is used for. The sort is intended to get us thinking about the uses and definitions of each. After the sort, on the following three slides, you are going to find objects or things around your home that you could measure in each way. Use the tool to sort the situations or attributes under perimeter, area, or volume. On the last three slides use the tool to take a picture of something at home and the tool and tool to label the picture.
