Student Instructions

Today, you will try some more slow breathing. You will begin to notice your breath inside your body. This practice can help you settle the Hubbub and feel more calm and at peace. Let’s try it now. 1. ▶️ Click play on the Mind Yeti audio session. Follow along with the guided instructions. 2. ⏳ Take a moment to practice the slow breathing again, first by imagining the 🍲bowl of soup in front of you, then by imaging your body filling up like a 🎈balloon as you breathe in, and getting softer as you let your air out. Try a few slow, deep breaths. 3. add Click Add Response. 4. drawing Draw yourself with your Yeti Body. On the left, draw what it looked or felt like as you filled your body like a balloon with your deep breath. On the right, draw what your body looked or felt like as it became soft again and all the air went out. 5. label Use the label tool to add words around your picture that describe how you felt. 6. check Click the green check to add to your journal. Family Why: Mindfulness helps children manage stress and work through it more quickly. Mindfulness practice—even a few minutes a day has health benefits. Research suggests that mindfulness can increase one’s ability to focus, calm down and connect positively with others.
