Improper Fractions and Mixed Number Conversion Practice

Grades: 5th Grade
Subjects: Math

Student Instructions

We are going to continue to practice writing improper fractions and mixed numbers. This lesson is for two days. MONDAY: 1. Watch the first part of the tutorial that teaches how to turn and improper fraction to a mixed number. 2. Do the first 4 slides. Make sure to DRAW the picture of the fraction using squares (or circles) and use the drawing to make the mixed number. You can draw it on Seesaw, or take a picture of your work that you do on paper. 3. When you finish on Monday, click draft so I can check your work. TUESDAY: 1. Watch the first part of the tutorial again. 2. Do the last 3 slides. 3. When you finish, click check so I can check your work.

Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

I used this as an intervention for a few students who were struggling with this concept, but it could be used for regular instruction as well.
