Today we learned about different structures of poetry and the different types of poems we can read! We know that poetry texts are a little different than prose texts as there is a focus on HOW the words are written and how they SOUND. 1. Read this short, funny poem and identify the poetic structures on the "iPoet" graphic. 2. Use the the pencil and a different colour to label each structural feature: stanzas, line breaks, verses and rhymes. 3. Record yourself reading the poem and state the kind of rhythm and meter the poem has: slow, fast or medium?
