Gather a collection of items for your child to sort by colour or type. Try to include between 3 and 6 different colours or types. You could use: a selection of fruit (or vegetables) some toy cars LEGO blocks Place the items in a basket or similar. Ask your child to sort into piles of different colours or types. Ask which pile has 'fewer' items? Which has 'more' items? Which is the 'smallest' pile? Which is the 'biggest' pile? Send a and use the when answering questions.
