When October rolls around, I start getting excited. It's the holiday season coming up and I love the holidays. I especially like Halloween. It gives me the perfect excuse to break out my classic monster DVDs. I love watching Frankenstein, Dracula, The Mummy, etc. Is it any wonder that these movies are classics? These actors created the most amazing characters, that are still popular 80 years later. Yes, they're monsters but I like to think they're just all misunderstood, especially Frankenstein. Poor guy is just looking for someone to love him. As a tribute to these wonderful characters, we have the classic monster plushie video tutorial. In this soft, tiny form, they're so loveable that kids and adults alike will love them. Look at their little faces. They don't want to scare anyone. These monsters are only in danger of stealing your heart. These plushies can be turned into any character, it just takes imagination. You could make different themes ones like, Easter or Christmas. Let's get sewing! Go to the links link and watch the various videos to get and idea and to refresh your sewing skills. There is a site to download sewing patterns on page 2. When you are ready gather your materials and equipment and give it a go. As you progress, don't forget to add to your Digital Diary. add to your journal with photo Have FUN creating your PLUSHIE.

This activity is part of my Materials and Technology Unit. I think simple sewing tasks help the students develop many different skill. I have included a few different how to video for those students that haven't done sewing before. I always just encourage the students to give it a go and enjoy the process and be creative and adapt to what goes on with their creations.
