Slope and y-intercept practice

Grades: 8th Grade, 9th Grade
Subjects: Math

Student Instructions

Click add to start the activity. On slides 1-3, find the rate of change or slope of the line by determining the rise (change in y) and run (change in x). Next, plot the ordered pairs on the coordinate plane. Analyze the graph so that you can describe the linear line that you see by completing the statements. If needed, use your notes to help guide you through. Complete the slides by use the pen or label tool. On slides 5-6, determine the y-intercept on the graph and explain your reasoning. There is a helpful hint on slide 5 if you need a little bit of guidance. Preview the hint by using the :drag: tool to remove the rectangle. Complete the slides by use the pen or label tool. On slide 7, let's combine all of your knowledge! Use the information from the graph to complete the x/y table, identify the slope of the line, and identify the y-intercept using the pen or label tool. Finally, use the label, mic, or video tool to provide an explanation of your reasoning. On the last slide, reflect on your own understanding. Use the move tool to drag the arrow on to one of the six hands to indicate which hand best describes your level of understanding. This will help me understand how you are feeling on these learning targets. Be sure to click on the check when you have finished the activity. To save your work and return to finish it at a later time, click the orange draft button.
