In the attached example, there is a separate page that gives alternate directions for students who are working from home and do not have a device that easily allows them to use the drawing tools. If your students are working in the classroom and you do not need the alternate directions, delete the pages with those alternate directions before sharing the activity with students. In whole group, introduce the letter case letters along side the uppercase letter and review its sound. Show the letters and pictures that begin with the letter sounds. Gather materials like pipe cleaners, play-dough, wood pieces, plastic pieces, or paper strips to demonstrate how to build the letters. Have students build the letters with partners and observe students while building. In small group, ask students to find the letters in print and practice tracing and writing the letters. ELL and students who need to support can be prompted to start the letter at the top. Enrichment can include asking children to find objects around the room or school that begin with the letter sounds.
