Student Instructions
1. Tap 2. Read the sentences with your class. Use the to write a list of guesses of what the covered word could be in the sentence. Tap the button. slide the box over to show the beginning sound or ending sound of the covered word. Cross out guesses that don't match sounds. make more guesses if needed now that we know the beginning sound. Move the box to see the covered word. Use the other words in the sentence to help you guess. 3. Tap save.
This activity would be completed whole group. Using context clues help children guess (decode) unknown words. This is good practice of a reading strategy. This also is good practice for visual clues. (word length, beginning and ending consonant sounds.)
