Student Instructions
It is extremely important as an internationally-minded global citizen to appreciate the variety of languages present in the world. As such, SIS will be celebrating Mother Language Day on Thursday, February 21st with the rest of the world. To better appreciate linguistics, let's learn the following key phrases in a multitude of languages. You will first choose your mother language (which means the first language that you are a native speaker of). For many in grade 5, that is either English, Mandarin (Chinese), or Korean... though it could be another language. Then, everyone will translate into Mandarin (Chinese); lastly, you will choose a language (one you are interested in that either you know or do not know - YOUR CHOICE).
