Scholastic Learn at Home - Day 2 Plants Lesson

Student Instructions

1. Click on the link and go to the activities for the Day 2 Plants lesson. 2. Read along with the non-fiction book It Could Still Be a Flower (click on Read Along for the book to be read aloud). 3. Watch the video "What Are Plants?" 4. Click on the "Nutrition and Vocabulary Activity: Eat Plant Parts." 5. On Seesaw, click add to begin. 6. Tap drawing and draw a picture of a plant that people eat. 7. Tap label & label your plant. 8. Press the green check to turn in your work. Together with a parent, search your kitchen for edible plants. Look for different parts of plants, for example: carrots or onions for roots; broccoli tops for flowers; lettuce for leaves; beans or peas for seeds; celery for stems; and bananas for fruit. Then pick out some plant parts to share as a snack! Draw and label what you found on Seesaw.
