We have been solving real-world problems in math, and we have learned how to use bar models as a strategy for addition and subtraction problems. 1. Add the activity to your journal. 2. Start working on slide 1, and repeat the directions for each of the slides. 3. Read the real-world problem two times. 4. Use the draw tool to draw a bar model for the problem. Remember to label the bars and include any brackets and question marks! 5. Then use the draw tool to write a number sentence for the problem. 6. Solve the problem using a strategy we've used in class (base ten pieces or expanded form). *If it's difficult to do your work with the Seesaw tools, you can do your work on a piece of paper or dry erase board, and take a picture of your work to put on your Seesaw slide. Repeat these steps for each slide. 7. Put all of your great math thinking in your journal!
