Magnetic Toy Invention (Magnet Notebook STEAM Challenge)

1. Brainstorm different toys to invent with your partner. 2. Use the Planning Sheet to design your toy. Label your drawing (magnets, magnetic objects, materials). 3. Make a list of your materials for your toy. 4. Build your toy. Take pictures to document the building of your toy (beginning, middle, end). 5. Test your toy. Take a video of your toy working. 6. Improve your toy (as needed). 7. Take 2 final photos of your toy. 8. Edit one photo. Label the magnets and magnetic parts. 9. Create a video describing how your toy works. 10. Add your video to this activity. Required Content o Picture of finished toy (1st picture of your video) o Toy name and Group Name o Picture of Plan Sheet o Picture of materials o Pictures of the building process (beginning, middle, end) o Video of your toy working o Labeled photo of your toy o Explanation of how the toy works (magnets attracting other magnets, magnets repelling other magnets, or magnets attracting iron) using appropriate vocab.
