Grades: 5th Grade
Subjects: Math

Student Instructions

Today we are continuing our study of multiplying a fraction by a whole number. Remember, our main goal is to learn different ways of SEEING what happens when we multiply a fraction and a whole. We will be using a very different strategy today. Today's strategy is using the idea that multiplying is really just repeated addition. We also are reminded of the commutative property of multiplication and how it can be useful with multiplying fractions and whole numbers. Directions: 1. Watch the tutorial 2. Complete the activity using the repeated addition. Remember that you can use the Seesaw tools to show your work, or take a photo of your work.
