Teacher Notes (not visible to pupils)
This activity uses a short video to introduce personal pronouns (I, you, he, she, it, we, they). Pages include a chance for students to respond with voice, drawing, photo or text, and three short drag-and-drop checks for understanding. Prepare by cuing the video and having simple classroom pictures or student name cards available for discussion and partner practice. For open-ended responses: a high-quality answer to "Share one thing you learned" names a pronoun or explains that pronouns replace names (example: "I learned that we can say 'he' instead of Alex"). A high-quality answer to "Share one question you still have" shows curiosity about when to use a pronoun (example: "When do we use 'they'?" ). For the Show It page, a strong response uses the chosen tool to correctly replace a name with the right pronoun in 1–2 examples (photo with caption, short video saying sentences, or a drawing labeled with pronouns). Teachers can mark these open responses correct if the student demonstrates correct use or a clear attempt, or incorrect if the student shows no relationship to pronouns or random words.
