Teachers, save “JEDI Crew: Labor Day Grades K-2” to assign it to your class.

The purpose of this assignment is for students to learn about the purpose of Labor Day. At EMSA, we also like to encourage Better World learning. We encourage our students to "be smart in order to do good." For Labor Day, we ask students to read the linked in reading either independently or with a parent. The book is on epic and accessible to younger readers. After learning the purpose of Labor Day, we ask students to write a message thanking our workers across the country. We want our students to understand that Labor Day is more about honoring the contributions that workers have made to help build a better world for all, rather than it just being a day off of school. If your child cannot write independently, allow them to draw, record, or film a Thank You note.
