Student Instructions

1. Look at the names in the example. See how they are written in block letters. 2. Tap add 3. Use pen to draw your name in block letters on the grid. Make sure to turn all the curvy letters in your name into block letters with straight lines. 4. Count the outside edges of each letter to find the perimeter. Add all the sides together to find the total perimeter of your block letter name. Use pen to write the total perimeter in units. (Example: Perimeter = 27 units) 5. Count all the inside squares of each letter to find the area. Add all the areas together to find the total area of your block letter name. Use pen to write the total area in square units. (Example: Area = 15 square units). 6. Tap check to save your work.
