Student Instructions

In Week 4 we will be celebrating Grandparents' Day. While not everyone in the class may be fortunate enough to have a grandparents in their lives, we are asking you to think about whether you have an older person in your life that may be able to help you with this task. This person could be another relative, a close family friend or even a neighbour. Ask your parent or caregiver for suggestions, as they may have someone in mind that could help. We would like you to find an older person and have them film a short video on one of the following topics. A special memory from their own primary school days. A special memory about their favourite school subject or teacher. A special memory about starting high school. Some thoughts on how school today is different to school in their day. Some thoughts on how how they learnt without having the technology that we have today. If they would like to, they could even film themselves reading a short story or a passage from a book that they enjoyed when they were your age. If your grandparent or special friend has a different idea they would like to share, please check with your teacher first. The videos need to be between 1 and 5 minutes (Seesaw will cut off longer videos). Please ask them to introduce themselves at the start of the video. They should let us know who they are and their relationship to you. You can even do this as an interview, where you ask your grandparent or older friend questions about the topics above. Responding can be done one of two ways. You can add and then film your grandparent or special friend from the Seesaw app. OR You can use a phone camera, iPad or other device to film and then hit add to upload the video. This means that even if your grandparent or special friend lives interstate or overseas, they can film their video and send it to you to be uploaded as a response to Seesaw. We will then be able to share these special memories with our class at the end of Week 4.
