Some possible learning objectives: To play with shapes To make arrangements with objects To build models and talk about the shapes and arrangements used To use familiar objects and common shapes to create and recreate patterns What could we do? * Cut out some 2D shapes; circles, squares, triangles, rectangles etc. then arrange them to create a picture. * Pictures you could create: rocket, car, lorry, house (or something else!) * Label the 2D shape names that you have used * Write or tell someone a story about your shape picture * Go hunting for shapes around the house - they are everywhere * Listen to the story 'Circle', 'Square' or 'Triangle' by Jon Klassen and Mac Barnett CIRCLE - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYbGVMgVU1Q SQUARE - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ro4Jg0hdb5U TRIANGLE - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgq4hlZEpYw These are just ideas - there are so many other opportunities for learning, especially when you get the rest of the family involved.
