1. Read and listen to these two companion books about recycling: I Stink is fiction (not true) and Garbage Trucks is non-fiction (true). 2. Complete the following activities: Word Match (vocabulary) Fact or Fiction? What Came First (sequencing) 3. Watch the video: What happens to our trash? 4. Do the activity: find an item in your home you can repurpose, reuse or recycle. Create a new purpose for that item. 5. Writing Workshop: in your writing workshop journal write your title "Recycling". Write and draw ways you can reuse, repurpose and recycle at home and at school. 6. Bonus: Create a compost at your house or in your garden. How can composting help save our Earth? Why are worms and insects important in composting?
