Today we will be reading, A Porcupine in a Pine Tree and talking about theme. Theme means: A common, repeated idea throughout a text. This is often the MAIN IDEA of a text. After, you will be creating your own 12 Days of Christmas using a Google Slides template. You can create your 12 Days of Christmas around any theme you would like, but the theme needs to be consistent throughout. For example, a Minecraft 12 Days of Christmas would include red stone or a creeper but not a Pikachu. Learning Goal: I can explain what theme/main idea means and apply it to my writing. Success Criteria: I can create my own version of 12 Days of Christmas around 1 central theme.
