Student Instructions
Read this story at least three days in a row. You can read half on the first day, and the rest on the second day. By the third or fourth day, you should be very accurate and sound very fluent (reading smoothly, like talking).
Click on the picture of the title page to begin to read the book.
Read each page to your parent, babysitter, or an older sibling - if you get stuck on a word, try to make the sounds in the word - if you can’t work it out, your helper can tell you the word after you’ve had a try at it.
After you read each page, your helper can ask you the questions at the bottom of each page and talk about those with you.
When you have read the story two or three times, do the activity template (with a recording
) so I can hear how you sound as you read!
OPTIONAL: follow-up task:
See how good you are at being a wildlife photographer! If you can, (on a nice, dry day) borrow a camera, cellphone, or iPad/tablet and find a good spot in your garden to watch out for birds (or cats/dogs etc) and try to get some good photos of them.
your best photo to the template and then
record yourself talking about what it was like to be a wildlife photographer - how easy was it to get photos? What problems did you have etc?
