Student Instructions

1. Click on the link and watch the video of Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type By Doreen Cronin. In Click, Clack, Moo, the Cows and Hens are trying to persuade Farmer Brown to give them electric blankets by not providing milk or eggs. At the end, Duck tries to persuade Farmer Brown to add a driving board to the pond by keeping the typewriter from him. The Cows, Hens, and Duck all try to convince Farmer Brown to do something they want by NOT giving him what he wants. They used persuasion to get what they want. 2. Assignment: Write a persuasive and friendly letter in the voice of an animal who wants something from a human. 3. Slide 1- PLAN: Decide what animal you will be and what you are trying to get from the human. How do you convince someone to give you something they have never thought to give you? What kinds of words will you use to persuade someone? 4. Slide 2- Review the parts of a letter. 5. Slide 3- DRAFT: Using the label, type into the friendly letter template. Make sure you include all parts of a letter! 6. Click check to submit!
