Maths: Understanding Thirds

Watch along with me explaining about thirds and where they fit amongst other fractions that we have recently learnt about. Once you've finished watching: 1. Get two A4 pieces of paper. Cut the first piece of paper into 5 equal strips and leave the second piece of paper as it is. 2. Colour, label and stick in your first strip without folding it on to the top of the uncut piece of A4 paper. This is 1 whole. 3. Fold the second strip in half, then colour and label the pieces. Stick them under the whole. These are 2 halves. 4. Fold the next strip into 3 pieces. Measure it first. Each piece should measure 5cm. Colour and label the pieces, and stick them under the halves. These are 3 thirds. 5. Fold the next strip in half and half again. Colour and label the pieces, and stick them under the thirds. These are 4 quarters 6. Click 7. Upload a of your fraction wall. 8.
