Student Instructions

Deal 5 cards to each person. Look at your cards but don't show them to your friends. Put the rest of the cards in a pile in the middle and turn over the top card. The first player looks at the card and tries to match it by color or word family. If they cannot, they draw a card from the pile and play it if it matches. Then it is the next person's turn. Players may play special cards if it matches the color like a skip card to skip the next person, a draw two to make a friend draw 2 new cards from the pile, or a Reverse to change the direction of play. Wild cards can be played at anytime to choose a new word family, When a player has one card left they must say "uno". The first player to get rid of all of their cards wins! When the game is over players record themselves reading the words they have left in their hands.
