Today we learned that when readers run into a new word, they don’t ignore those words, nor do they let those words stop them from reading and learning about their topic. They say the word the best that they can and think, “What does this new word mean?” THINK: 1.My new word is_________. 2. What does it mean? 3. How do I know? What did you do to figure out this new word? Remember to use what is happening on the page, and in the book as a clue. Be sure to add a or answering these questions!
