Have you ever thought about how Australia is ruled? What about other countries around the world? Are they all ruled in the same way? Australia is a democracy, but how many countries are like us? Go to the instruction pages and use the link to discover more about Democracy. When you are ready to add your responses go to to the student templates. On student pages #1 and #2 gather your information and record you findings. You can use label , mic or video to create your responses.

They will research various types of rule and participate in activities that allow them to experience these as decision-makers and citizens. They will consider Australia’s three-tier system of government, identify the roles and responsibilities of federal, state and local governments and be introduced to how members are elected to these institutions. Finally, students will consider some symbols of democracy and how they shape our national identity.
