CCSS: RFK.1 through RFK.4 (Print Concepts, Phonological Awareness, Phonics and Word Recognition, and Fluency) This story is available via Starfall.com in both online and print. This Activity includes a 4 min. mini lesson review the strategy Eagle Eye (look at picture clues), Lips the Fish (sound out the beginning sound) and Stretchy Snake (move through the word segmenting and blending). It also focuses on the short vowel u. Students will practice reading and using the three strategies and then go back and record themselves reading.
