Matter is anything that takes up space. Objects are made up of matter. You can describe an object by talking about its color, texture, shape, odor or size. When you compare objects you talk about how they are alike and how they are different. When you compare two objects made of the same matter you can talk about mass (weight), volume (amount of space it takes up) and length.
