Teachers, save “Make Do: Cardboard STEM Challenge” to assign it to your class.

We have a PROBLEM. Our desks are not big enough. You are going to follow the DESIGN PROCES. Your challenge is to design and build a STRONG 💪🏽 shelf for your desk using cardboard. Shelf Criteria * Your entire science textbook MUST fit on the shelf (Measurements Required) * Your iPad, headphones, and pencil bag MUST fit under the shelf (Measurements Required) * You MUST have an opening that will allow your iPad, headphones, and pencil bag to be fit through * Your shelf MUST be strong enough to hold your science textbook, notebook, and assignment book * The only materials you are allowed to use are the Make Do tools and cardboard * Your shelf cannot be wider than a 4 cm border around your textbook (size restriction) * Your shelf cannot be higher than a 10 cm space above your iPad, headphones, and pencil bag (size restriction) 1.
