Make Do: Cardboard STEM Challenge

We have a PROBLEM. Our desks are not big enough. You are going to follow the DESIGN PROCES. Your challenge is to design and build a STRONG πŸ’ͺ🏽 shelf for your desk using cardboard. Shelf Criteria * Your entire science textbook MUST fit on the shelf (Measurements Required) * Your iPad, headphones, and pencil bag MUST fit under the shelf (Measurements Required) * You MUST have an opening that will allow your iPad, headphones, and pencil bag to be fit through * Your shelf MUST be strong enough to hold your science textbook, notebook, and assignment book * The only materials you are allowed to use are the Make Do tools and cardboard * Your shelf cannot be wider than a 4 cm border around your textbook (size restriction) * Your shelf cannot be higher than a 10 cm space above your iPad, headphones, and pencil bag (size restriction) 1. Read the text above. 2. Click to open the template. 3. Follow the directions on each page to follow the steps of the design process. 4. Click to save if you are not finished. 5. Click the green to save. Once everyone has finished, we will test the STRENGTH πŸ’ͺ🏽 of your shelf by holding a contest. We will see which shelf will hold the most science textbooks πŸ“•πŸ“•πŸ“•πŸ“•.
