When an author has a character act in a way that is different than they usually act or different than I expect them to, I ask myself: “Why is the character doing that?” This could help you make a prediction or make an inference about the plot and conflict. Write about a contrast or contradiction you noticed about a character in this letter. What were they like before? What are you noticing now? What is a prediction you might make or what are you thinking about the plot or conflict?
