Nonfiction Text Structure Sort

Grades: 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade
Subjects: Writing, English Language Arts

Student Instructions

1. Watch the two review videos on the first slide. 2. Practice identifying nonfiction text structures with this fun sort! Read each short passage and decide which structure is used. 3. Continue that for a total of 3 slides. 4. On the final slide, share at least 3 signal/clue words that help you figure out the difference between the 5 text structures. You can use your chart from the notes we took in class. HINTS: **Remember, Sequence and Chronological Order are the same thing. **Look for signal/clue words but don't be fooled by them either!
