Action! Roll'em! Density on review!

Grades: 6th Grade
Subjects: Science

Student Instructions

Do you remember how to calculate density? You will be given two objects, an irregular shape and a regular shape. You will collaborate with other students to produce an iMovie to show how density is determined for the regular and irregular objects (teacher's choice). The functional props you will use in your iMovie will be a triple beam balance (or digital scale), metric ruler, graduated cylinder, and calculator. Of course, your team will be the stars of the show! Seesaw Activity 1. Look over the rubric before you start so you will understand the expectations of this activity. 2. Determine the volume of the irregular and regular objects. 3. Determine the mass of the irregular and regular objects. 4. Calculate the density of both objects. 5. Capture this process by using iMovie. Movies should be no more than 3 minutes long. 6. Movies can be posted to Seesaw directly from iMovie by selecting the upload icon and then selecting the Seesaw Icon. Be sure to tag your teammates!
