Student Instructions
Learning Intention: I am learning to build a basic circuit. Success Criteria: I can get the light to turn on. I can draw my circuit using electronic symbols. You will need (materials): A 6v lantern battery (or equivalent) Alligator clips/wires Light globe/lamp Switch 1. Build a basic circuit, so that the light turns on. 2. Take a photo of your circuit and place it in the template. 3. Draw your circuit by dragging the electronic symbols into place on the template. 4. Record your thinking and explain how you built your circuit.
Students could draw the circuit diagram first and then build the circuit. It is recommended, however, students start by trying to build the circuit and getting the light to turn on. It is important not to help the students during this process and they learn through discovery and inquiry.
