Student Instructions

Help Stella navigate her way through the Shedd Aquarium to see all the fishes 🐠 👂🏼Listen carefully to the instructions to remember the path Stella took. Then start at the 🗺map and, but be sure to avoid bumping into Stanley while you work your way toward visiting the Lionfish! 1. Tap add 2. Use the glowpen to draw ⬆️up, ⬇️down, ⬅️left, or ➡️ right arrows in each box to show your path through the aquarium. 3. Tap the mic and share your code.

Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

This activity coordinates with book, Stella Diaz Has Something to Say, which is the early reader selection for the 2019 Global Read Aloud (#GRA19). This activity should be used after reading Chapter 19. In this unplugged coding activity, students will code their way from the map to the lionfish using the order from the story (audio directions included) while avoiding any of the animals where Stanley is shown. Order will be jellyfish, piranha, sea turtle, gift shop, lionfish.
