Mo Willems Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus

Grades: Kindergarten, 1st Grade
Subjects: Multilingual Learners, English Language Arts

Student Instructions

Listen and read the book Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-dHeNfXtgc Use the Speech Bubble Template to create your own scene between the bus driver and the pigeon. Draw both characters and illustrate what they are saying using the speech bubbles. For example, illustrate his reasons from his point of view: “I, Pigeon, want to drive the bus because…” or the bus driver’s point of view: ““Don’t let the pigeon drive the bus BECAUSE . . .” Watch Lunch Doodles with Mo Willems (skip to 16:45) https://safeyoutube.net/w/DFE2 to draw your own Pigeon. You may choose to complete this activity on a piece of paper (draw the speech bubbles) instead of on Seesaw.
