Student Instructions
Your goal is to create a tutorial video that will show the steps for "Subtracting Mixed Numbers with Regrouping" using visual directions. Before you begin, design an equation using mixed numbers. Examples: **three minus one and two-thirds **two and two-sixths minus one and four-sixths Create images and videos for your tutorial using Keynote, Pages, PicCollage or another program. Use these images and videos to put together your final video using the Clips App. Be sure to include: 1.Poster (In Clips App) with title... "Subtracting Mixed Numbers with Regrouping" 2. Slide to show the equation...(use PiCCollageEDU, KeyNote, or a different app) 3. Slide or video to show a model of the first mixed number in your equation. 4. Slide or video to tell what number to subtract. 5. Slide or video to model how to regroup the mixed number to subtract. 6. Slide or video to show the answer to the equation.
Teacher Notes (not visible to students)
You may wish to have sticky notes available with equations for students to choose to create the tutorial instead of having students create their own equations to ensure that regrouping is necessary in the task.
