Let's make a graph about our favorite food. 1. Push the blog button to see our class blog. 2. Scroll down to where you see the responses to the question "What is your favorite food?" 3. Push the view all comments button. 4. Using the responses in our blog, write this data in any way you want on a piece of paper or write it on page 1 here in Seesaw. 5. If you used a piece of paper, take a picture of your data and put the picture on page 1. 6. Push the and go to page 2. Make a bar graph or a picture graph (by drawing your own pictures) using the information from your data. Make sure you graph starts on the the left. 7. For this lesson I posted the question "What is your favorite food?" on our class blog. I also gave them the following 4 options along with the pictures on page 2 of the student template for help: spaghetti, tacos, pizza, or chicken nuggets. I posted the question 1 week in advance of this lesson and gave kids plenty of time to respond. When it came time to do this lesson, the kids went to the blog, looked at all of the responses and used this as a way to collect data and make their graph. This process can be repeated for topics such as: favorite activity, favorite movie, favorite specials class at school, etc--the possibilities are endless.
