Practice Character Voices

RI 2.6 Distinguish differences in the points of view of characters, including by speaking in a different voice for each character when reading dialogue aloud. 1. Choose a 📚 from our exemplar text. Select a portion of the text with significant dialogue. 2. Practice reading the section that you have chosen. Read the text before and after the dialogue for better understanding of the characters. 😸🙀😿 3. Use the tool with the student template to study your character’s voice. 4. When you are confident about your character’s thinking, feelings, and actions, practice yourself reading with expression.
