Lesson 7 This can be used as a stand alone lesson- or as part of the sequence of lessons I have created. I have left the video- but always recommend that teachers create their own/or teach live for best practise. Students prefer and tune in better to their own teacher's voice. Learning Intention- is for students to recognise the equal groups within the array and become familiar with the vocabulary. The next step, will be to build arrays using this language and finally link to multiplication. Year 2 Victorian Curriculum-Australia Recognise and represent multiplication as repeated addition, groups and arrays *Representing array problems with available materials and explaining reasoning *Visualising a group of objects as a unit and using this to calculate the number of objects in several identical groups *I am currently upgrading the previous lessons and will be adding them as they are ready and meet the new standards.
