First: Watch the video. Pay attention closely on the water cycle. What is a water cycle? Draw how the water cycle is explained. Use the following words to label your drawing. Use your Inquiry Journal to draw and label the Water Cycle Process. evaporation water vapor condensation precipitation Second: Hands-on Activity Follow this activity to see how the Water Cycle in Action. Materials: an empty jar a bowl boiling hot water (ask for assistance for safety) ice cubes 1. Pour the jar with hot water about half-full. 2. Cover the jar with the bowl. Let it sit for 2-3 minutes. 3. Observe jar. What do you see? Can you see sweat or steam going up? Next... 4. Pour the ice cubes in the bowl. Let is sit for 2-3 minutes. 5. Observe. What do you see? Can you see droplets of water coming down? Water cycle is similar to this activity. The sun (heat) evaporates the water, then water vapor cools, turns into condensation. From condensation is precipitates...turn the water to rain, snow or hail.
