Thanksgiving Compare and Contrast

Grades: 2nd Grade, 4th Grade, 3rd Grade
Subjects: Character Building, Home Learning, Social Studies

Student Instructions

For this activity, you will be comparing and contrasting Thanksgiving traditions with a partner. Remember, to compare means to see how 2 or more things are similar. To contrast means to see how these things are different. You can use a Venn Diagram to help visualize how things compare and contrast. 1) Click add to start the activity. Feel free to use the example on page 3 to review how to use a Venn Diagram. 2) With a partner, have a conversation about what traditions you have for Thanksgiving. Use page 2 if you need some conversation ideas. 3) On page 1, use the label tool to add your name to one side of the Venn Diagram, and your partner's name to the other side. 4) Continue to use the label tool to type in what you and your partner's traditions you have in common in the MIDDLE. Anything you have that is not in common, you would put in your own section of the diagram. 5) Try to add at least 3 things to each section. But, you can always add more! Have fun sharing about your holiday traditions and hearing about different traditions other family's may have!
