Student Instructions
Today we are going to practice speaking poetry with rhythm and expression! 1. Listen and repeat the lines of the poem with your teacher's help 2. Practise reading some of the poem with a partner 3. Record or yourself speaking the poem on page 2 and 3. Use pitch and rhythm as you read to make your voice more interesting, and make the poem flow. You can just record one stanza if needed. 4. Listen to your recording - can you hear the rhyming? Is it fun to hear the words in rhythm? What do you notice about the poetry and your reading? Record your ideas about the poem and how it felt to speak it.
I have included 2 poems so that teachers can choose which poem to teach their class.
