Student Instructions

When we talk about the parts of our body, we talk about eyes and noses and hands and feet, but we often forget to talk about our skin! Skin covers most of our bodies. It covers our tummies and backs, our arms and legs, our hands and feet and faces. We even have special skin under the hair on our heads! Another special thing about skin is that it is like a rainbow. There are so many beautiful different colors of skin. There is honey-colored skin, and cocoa-colored skin, and rosy-colored skin, and cinnamon-colored skin, and peach-colored skin, and so many more. Even in the same family, there can be different shades of skin. Our skin isn't there just to look pretty - it does important things for our bodies. Skin protects all of our inside parts like our hearts and lungs. Our skin can feel thinks like hot, cold, bumpy or smooth. It helps us cool off by sweating when we are hot. It heals when we get cuts or burns. It even makes us feel ticklish. Skin is amazing!
