Begin activity. Listen to your teacher's instructions. Insert emojis or use the pen to represent the story. Show all your work AND write the answer to the story problem. Post it to your journal.
BRIDGES INSTRUCTIONS: *Show students the available materials (cubes, mats, number racks) and let them know they can also use fingers, drawings, or numbers to help them solve the problem. *Tell students they will need to write the answer to the problem and show how they solved it. *Read the story problem. You can reread it as many times as needed. *Give students as much time as they need to solve the problem and show their work. If a student writes only the answer on his paper, prompt him to use numbers, pictures, or words to show how he figured it out.
